Aerocull
Aerocull is a highly specialised company dedicated to protecting native biodiversity through the humane destruction of introduced animals from aerial platforms. It is well accepted that introduced species have the capacity to overrun native populations in many areas and put extreme pressure on the flora and fauna unless controlled effectively.

The organisation recognises that humane culling from helicopters is one aspect of an overall control program that may include mustering, baiting, ground control along with other methods. Often aerial culling is a last resort after other options have been attempted or deemed uneconomic on the remnant populations who may have spread out or retreated to rugged and remote areas.

The organisation employs highly skilled pilots experienced in helicopter operations in remote areas and aerial platform shooting. As well as experienced pilots, skilled marksmen are engaged to target vital areas of the target species and make all attempts to render immediate loss of consciousness and effect humane destruction of the introduced pests. Sharpshooters and all staff on projects must demonstrate a “hunters ethos” to ensure minimal suffering and understand that while it can be an unpleasant task, it is one that must be undertaken in areas to ensure the continued survival of Australia’s precious native species.
